Ida, a little cat, loves to paint all over her house but finds art class boring. She is sad when he can’t paint a good self-portrait. Mother Cat commissions a portrait of Ida by the art teacher to show her what proper training can accomplish. Ida now understands the value of learning properly, and she starts a portrait of her friend Piggy. Soon she can paint puppies, ducklings, butterflies, and pictures of herself — anything she wants!
